You need rest when painting your nails – take enough time for each of the following steps:

Cleaning: To ensure the nail polish stays put, your nails must be free of old polish, grease, dirt, soap, and cream residue. Therefore, wash your hands thoroughly and then treat each nail with some nail polish remover.

Prep: Use a nail file to shape your nails to your desired shape, pushing back cuticles as needed with the rounded side of the file. Then apply a base coat to lighten discoloration, fill in grooves, strengthen your nail plates, or give your nails a conditioning boost. Let the base coat dry for three minutes.

Applying polish: The final result depends on the amount of polish on the brush – the richer the color, the thinner each coat should be. Dip the brush in the polish and wipe off the polish on one side. Applying light pressure, place the brush with the "polish side" two millimeters from the cuticle in the center of your nail. Move the brush lengthwise toward the tip of the nail.

Then repeat the process to the left and right of that line, and finally, draw a horizontal line across the tip of the nail. Do this for each nail. Before applying the second coat, let the first coat of nail polish dry for five minutes.

Finish: Let the second coat dry for another five minutes. Then apply your topcoat and seal the tip of your nail with it. You can shorten the wait time with CLARAline fast-drying topcoat.

Correction: Remove any mistakes with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.
