Mascara Do's & Don'ts

Mascara Do's & Don'ts

Lashes create a certain look around the eyes, and when they're beautifully full and long, they lend a unique charm and glamour. How can you make your lashes pop? Will you use mascara, or are there other ways to make them look fuller and thicker?

Tips to make eyelashes healthier and thicker
How can you make eyelashes thicker?

  • Improve your lifestyle. Get enough vitamin B and D. It sounds strange, but think about your hair and nails! An unhealthy lifestyle makes them brittle and weak, so... your eyelashes too.
  • Use a nourishing serum for your lashes. An eyelash serum helps improve the health and flexibility of your lashes, which can reduce brittleness and breakage. This prevents your lashes from breaking off as easily, allowing them to grow fuller and longer.
  • Switch your mascara. Are you currently wearing waterproof mascara? That's a heavy burden on your lashes. It's best to switch to a 3-step mascara to improve the health of your lashes.
  • Always cleanse your face before bed. This gives your lashes a rest and allows them to recover overnight from the makeup you use during the day.
  • Use a special eye makeup remover to remove your makeup. This product is extra gentle on your lashes and helps protect them as much as possible while you're cleaning.

Thicken eyelashes with Vaseline and castor oil.

DON'T!
Vaseline is a greasy substance that only coats the lashes. The grease makes them appear thicker, but it also seals the lashes and weighs each lash down, making them fall out faster. In the case of castor oil, the lashes absorb the oil, making them appear fuller. Lashes become unnecessarily heavy and break off more quickly.
