What's hot in 2020? Research shows that female consumers are eager to get back to nature: the most searched terms are "nature-inspired" and "edible."
The top note of 2020 is "woody." It's found in half of the new perfumes, followed by musk and rose, complemented by "edible" notes like vanilla and coconut. Aquatic fragrances seem to be making a comeback, as do heavy oriental scents: the focus is on lighter notes for the evening as well...less is more!
Perfume makers are abandoning the unisex hype this year and are fully embracing femininity. This also applies to perfume packaging: 70% of fragrances released this year come in bottles with a relatively simple, minimalist design. Dramatic and theatrical bottles are out, and 75% of women prefer a simple bottle: "Easier to use" and "Classic is timeless."
And that makes us happy. FM offers the fragrances as standard in simple, easy-to-use packaging. Yippie!
Also new are the smaller packages...less expensive and more room to vary.
